Ummmm, Posting This to Prove I Don't Just Look at Video Games
According to various sources, Gus Van Sant (Good Will hunting, Milk) is teaming up with Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho) to make a movie about Jeremy Blake and his girlfriend.
The movie is based around a Vanity Fair article titled The Golden Suicides which recounts the paranoid suicidal death of Theresa Duncan and Jeremy Blake. It involves Scientologists, which are like the new Nazis according to this fictitious poll I made up from the internet.
I just hope that Van Sant and Ellis don't mess this movie up like they do all their others. I fully expect a space battle, vomit inducing pin wheels of the color spectrum, talking dogs, and a trailer for a new Pixar movie.
contemporary art in a movies psssh this wont go anywhere there just starting to make movies about warhol video art is too avant-garde for half those into contemporary art so there will be a grand total ofvvvvvvvv .00001 percent of people who will view him as anything but nonsense they will follow the success of this film with a buddy comedy about aids 3d trying to sneak pot over the internet
ReplyDeleteContemporary art in movies may not pass on a mass appeal, but it would appeal to certain film festivals. Maybe instead of doing a wide release, do a limited release and then slowly pick up speed to a wide release.
ReplyDeleteAlso, by the time that they would be making that buddy comedy, everything will be in 3D (including the Transformers remake/prequel)
